An evil wizard cannot accept the harmony ofcreativity and science...

Together with Kreativ Campus Detmold e.V., KIO and TRiNNOVATION OWL, the participants managed to complete the magical quests and save the Kreativ Campus from the evil wizard!

The visitors to the Adventure Academy were welcomed by Katrin Thaler (good wizard and office manager of Kreativ Campus Detmold e.V.) and Cindy Turczynski (communications manager at KIO) - Daniel Schönke then gave an insight into the world of playful approaches with his keynote speech “Introduction to the topic of gamification”.

Participants were able to work alone or in groups and take part in the magical tests. Games and tasks combined science and magic.

  • Together with the social pedagogue Dominik Rennert ('Lebenskünstla'), the participants were able to be assigned to a hero class based on personality tests. Guilds were formed based on the hero classes.

  • Next, an obstacle had to be overcome, the 'Net of Aragog'

  • In the 'Enchanted Forest', the groups experienced a round of 'Dungeons and Dragons' with Fabius Dulisch (co-founder of the pen & paper network 'Spread the Flame').

  • The 'Tower of Heroes' quest revolved around a shaky structure - group work required!

  • Skills in (VR) city planning were required in 'Re:Constructors'

  • The 'Test of Courage' also allowed players to enter a VR world

  • In the 'Lemgo mana import' quest, players had to solve a train puzzle together with Martin Griese.

  • A drone course was run at 'Höxter mana import'

Experience gamification and complete quests

There was plenty of mana
to collect at every station!

Main task: Fill the magic jar with mana - a magical substance needed to save the Kreativ Campus. To recharge your batteries, there was an ice cream and burger food truck - and free drinks!

Visitors were also able to listen to a panel discussion on the topic of “What relevance do playful approaches have in work and everyday life?” with Professor Alexander Kutter, Dominik Remmert, Fabius Dulisch and Daniel Schönke.

We would like to thank all the adventurers who participated!
