Making music with network technology? Today It's all about network music

This is where the music plays - on the Intra-, Inter- and Metanet!

These three ensembles presented how they use networks for their music

The laptop ensemble „NetSound Collective“

Lukas Döhler, Dmitrii Shchukin and Sascha Etezazi made music together at the KIO using locally networked computers. Here, everyone has access to the sounds of the others and can process them - that's is how they create improvised computer music.

Fusion-Jazz made by HfM

The jazz combo showed us how to make music together via Internet: one part of the band was at the Erich Thienhaus Institute of the University of Music, the other part played on site at the KIO. Audio & video is streamed in both directions via LoLa technology (LoLa = LowLatenncy) so that interactive playing is possible.

Together in the Metaverse

From Düsseldorf to Detmold - together in the Metaverse: Guest professor Damian Dziwis and Markus van Well presented a live coding performance: Markus van Well played from Düsseldorf with Damian Dziwis in virtual reality.

The musical contributions became more and more global - first completely in the KIO, where laptops communicated with each other locally. Then a stream that allowed two bands to make music together. Finally, a live coding performance in the Metaverse. Thanks to everyone who was there!
