Composition
& Sound Design

When developing ideas for projects, products and interactive applications, we always focus on the audio sector.

Advantages of our research

In tune with the times
Interactive systems and generative algorithms determine current research in the field of audio as well as in other disciplines. At the KreativInstitut, we have a loudspeaker and headphone-based interactive 3D audio playback system in which we conduct the latest research in the field of audio for XR systems. In addition, our unique expertise makes us the right contact for audio issues of all kinds.
Sound as a growth area
Sound and music are essential for perception in digital media. Especially in current immersive media from the fields of virtual and augmented reality, spatial sound is crucial for the user's sense of presence. Nevertheless, sound only plays a subordinate role in many media productions - our research transfer to the creative industries is intended to demonstrate and promote the potential of sound in new digital media.
Open research
Digital Composition and Sound Design opens up new presentation possibilities for scientific research, for example on the concert stage or in installation works.Through interdisciplinary work with colleagues from the KreativInstitut and in joint projects with other research institutions, our research activities are linked to scientific developments in areas such as ecology, aesthetics and psychology. The results of our work are also published as open-source tools for the commons, enabling ongoing engagement with a global research community.

THE RIGHT TEAM FOR THE JOB

Our team brings together creative minds with high artistic standards and technical expertise from a wide range of audio disciplines. We are composers, sound directors, sound engineers, sound researchers, instrumentalists and performers. This always results in a multifaceted and artistic view of issues.
