OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts is a university of applied sciences. With its three locations, it is firmly anchored in the region of Ostwestfalen-Lippe and is characterized by its departments, which focus on technology, economics, design and art.
Diversity characterizes the Detmold University of Music. Top artistic promotion of young musicians is closely linked to the promotion of the general public. Both areas are dependent on each other and enable many new approaches.

RE:Constructors
Hirschbiegel+Grundstein GmbH is a medium-sized software company based in Mainz-Kastel. Since 1999, H+G has been supporting cultural institutions such as theaters and event venues with software packages for personnel planning and artistic operations. Through this collaboration, research at KreativInstitut.OWL supports cultural institutions in their day-to-day business.
Cultural promotion, monument and nature conservation, real estate and forestry management - the tasks of the Lippe State Association are many and varied. For over 70 years, it has been preserving the assets of the former Free State of Lippe and using them for the benefit of the citizens of the region.
As a boutique-design agency, linea_weiss develops brands and visual identities from the dental industry to IT and the premium interior sector. The foundation of their work is a deep examination of the needs and touch points of the people they want to reach. They are agile and open-minded, always on the lookout for companies and institutions that have the same high standards as they do.
Change begins in the mind - as a psychological consultant and personal coach, Hannah Böker supports her clients on their individual path to greater inner clarity and resilience. Her own experience with a low point in life led her to therapy, which helped her to better understand herself and her needs. On her path to mental health and mindfulness, she immersed herself in numerous courses and eventually trained as a psychological counselor.
On September 24, 1961 the Opernhaus that had been inaugurated in 1912 and destroyed during the War was reopened as Deutsche Oper Berlin. Ever since it has been Berlin´s largest and Germany´s second largest music theatre, featuring among the most modern institutions in Europe. The straightforward and elegant building that was realized by architect Fritz Bornemann (he also conceived the America Memorial Library and the Haus der Berliner Festspiele, a. o.) seats 1.859 and guarantees a maximum viewing and hearing experience for every visitor.
The innovation network XR-INTERACTION was initiated by the Professorship of Ergonomics and Innovation Management at Chemnitz University of Technology. Together with the VRVis Zentrum für Virtual Reality und Visualisierung Forschungs-Gmbh, Vienna and the Professorship of Production Systems and Processes (TUC), it is responsible for the coordination of the network and the network work.
The Catholic pastoral network Lippe-Detmold is an association of parishes, groups, various initiatives and social institutions. Trusting in God's sustaining hand, the Pastoralverbund shapes religious and social life in the heart of Lippe: in Augustdorf, Detmold, Lemgo, Barntrup, Extertal and Kalletal.
Kreativ Campus Detmold e.V. is a meeting point for creative professionals and a place for inspiring cultural work. Together with the economy of East Westphalia-Lippe, the association promotes culture, education and research in our region. All people who want to network and get creative are invited to the KCD events.
For over 40 years, ruf has been offering trips specifically designed for young people. What started in 1981 as a small association has grown over the years into a successful medium-sized company and is now Europe’s leading provider of youth travel.
nextReality.Hamburg e.V. connects all people with a passion for immersive technologies and media in its community. The association bundles the diverse potentials, strengths and offers around XR technologies and media in order to further develop the industry, create visibility and consolidate Hamburg as an XR and media/digital location.
OWL ViProSim e.V. is a network in Ostwestfalen-Lippe that connects companies and universities in the field of Virtual Prototyping and Simulation (VPS). Its goal is to promote digital development and production planning processes, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Radio Lippe has been accompanying the district of Lippe as a strong, regional local radio station since 1991. With up to eight hours of its own program every day - from local news to exciting events and interactive formats. Radio Lippe is the daily companion for around 83,000 people.
POS TUNING, based in Bad Salzuflen, is a global specialist in point-of-sale solutions and develops smart solutions for optimal product presentation in retail – ranging from product feeding systems and shelf organisation to digital services such as the Smart Shelf. With around 250 employees, the company supplies retailers in 120 countries and automates over 200 million shelf spaces at the point of sale worldwide.
The Weser Renaissance Museum at Brake Castle in Lemgo is dedicated to the art and cultural history of the Weser region in the 16th and early 17th centuries. In addition to its permanent exhibition, the museum regularly causes a stir with modern special exhibitions such as ‘A Kind of Art: Artificial Intelligence Meets the (Weser) Renaissance’. Its stated aim is always to strike an engaging balance between the past, present and future.  
Industrial Connectivity: Elektrifizierung, Automatisierung, Digitalisierung, elektrische Verbindungstechnik und erneuerbare Energien – Märkte, in denen Weidmüller zu Hause ist. Das 1850 gegründete Familienunternehmen ist in über 80 Ländern mit Produktionsstätten und Vertriebsgesellschaften vertreten. Als Global Player in der elektrischen Verbindungstechnik erzielte Weidmüller im Geschäftsjahr 2024 einen Umsatz von knapp einer Milliarde Euro mit rund 5.700 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern weltweit – davon ca. 2.000 am Stammsitz in Detmold, inmitten von Ostwestfalen-Lippe. Dabei lebt Weidmüller Vielfalt mit Respekt. 
At the Three Investigators Escape Room in Cologne – Mission Rocky Beach – visitors can experience the adventures from the legendary radio plays and books of the Three Investigators, featuring the original voices of detectives Justus, Peter and Bob. Teams of two to six players work together to solve puzzles and cases set in Rocky Beach.
The Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) is the local authority association for the Westfalen-Lippe region and, with around 22,000 employees and over 200 facilities, is one of the largest providers of social, cultural and health services in the region. Among other things, the LWL runs specialist hospitals, special needs schools and 20 museums, thereby ensuring equal living conditions across the 27 towns and districts in the region. To this end, the LWL develops new ideas, drawing equally on tradition and innovation – and is thus making Westfalen-Lippe a strong region.
HHVISION is an agency specialising in architectural visualisation and property marketing, based in Cologne. For over 25 years, and drawing on experience from more than 4,000 projects, the team has been creating images, films and interactive VR tours for architecture, urban planning and design, whilst continuously researching new visual technologies.
MONOCAB is an innovative rail transport system for rural areas: gyroscopically stabilised, autonomous cabins travel in opposite directions on disused railway lines, thereby creating a flexible, personalised local passenger transport system (IPNV). This multi-award-winning project – including the RegioStars Award 2025 – is being developed by a research consortium comprising TH OWL, Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and Fraunhofer IOSB-INA.
Miele is a family-owned company based in Gütersloh and a world-leading manufacturer of premium domestic appliances and commercial equipment, which are used in hotels, sports and care facilities, and in the medical technology sector, amongst others. Under the motto ‘Immer Besser’ (Always Better), the brand has stood for the highest standards of quality and design since 1899.
The IWK is a research institute at the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, dedicated to musical acoustics, performance science and music and digital humanities. With its own acoustics laboratory and Performance Science Lab, the institute conducts research into, amongst other things, instrumental acoustics, musical ensemble playing and digital music research.
For more than 15 years, Fraunhofer IOSB-INA in Lemgo has been synonymous with application-oriented industrial automation. We integrate AI, flexible automation and human-centred robotics into networked production systems. At SmartFactoryOWL, our motto is: ‘Test before you invest’. We develop our Future City Solutions within the context of climate-adaptive and climate-resilient urban development.
The Oerlinghausen Climate Experience Centre is an interactive exhibition that brings climate change and its consequences to life through modern simulations, hands-on stations and multimedia installations. Visitors are immersed in three themed worlds, experience extreme weather events first-hand and discover practical solutions for tackling climate change.
The Lippische Landesmuseum Detmold is now the oldest and one of the largest museums in East Westphalia-Lippe and the Weserbergland region. Since its foundation in 1835, it developed into a classic, internationally oriented general museum during the 19th century. Today, its collections cover natural history, archaeology, ethnology, the regional and cultural history of Lippe, art and furniture design.
