At this year's Open Day, we welcomed visitors of all ages. From the AI Playground to the recently opened SAAL - there was so much to discover!

Research up close at Kreativinstitut.OWL!
Our Researchers from the Composition & Sound Design department presented our newly opened Demonstration Spatial Audio and Arts Lab (SAAL): One of the largest 3D loudspeaker installations in Germany! With a 43.4 system, our SAAL offers the opportunity to explore the methods and effects of spatial sound design.
The Digital Humanities & Music Informatics research department offered a musical playground for experimentation! How do instruments sound from different directions? Exploring sounds with the “Detmold musical Instruments Timbre Explorer”. Our Interactive Drunken Sailor was also combined with an arpeggiator and synthesizer. Visitors were able to create completely new versions of the song!
In our VR Lab, as well as on the ground floor, you could find insights into our research focus on digital media production: find hidden 3D objects with Virtual and Augmented Reality, play VR tennis or try out image and video generation in the AI Corner!
