Detmold Culture Walk at the Creative Campus Detmold

On February 4, 2026, the Culture Walk brought participants to us at the Kreativ Campus Detmold in the KreativInstitut.OWL. In an open atmosphere, they had the opportunity to gain insights into our work, ask questions, and exchange creative perspectives.

The guests were welcomed by Sabine Kuhfuss, head of the Culture Team of the City of Detmold, who organized the Culture Walk together with Marie Claire Anlauf as part of the Culture Club and opened the evening.

Jan Willem Henckel then gave an insight into the work of KreativInstitut.OWL. In his presentation, he outlined the vision, structures, and interdisciplinary opportunities offered by KIO and showed how creative, technological, and scientific approaches come together here.

Maite Wimmelmeier then presented Kreativ Campus Detmold e.V. as a place of exchange for creative professionals, a platform for networking between the cultural sector, business, and research, and a meeting place for events to which everyone is invited.

Exciting presentations
about the work at KIO

The event concluded with a practical demonstration: the cultural walk visited two KIO laboratories. In the digital media production laboratory, demonstrated by Kim Marc Salscheider, guests were able to experience VR technologies for the Hermann Monument live. In the composition and sound design research laboratory, presented by Benedikt Samuel Jäger, the focus was on new immersive possibilities for music transmission. Our guests were amazed by the sound experience presented, in which the music completely fills the room.

We were delighted by the great interest, the open exchange, and the many exciting conversations — and we would like to thank everyone involved for their visit, their contributions, and their curiosity. Formats like this show once again how lively and diverse the cultural scene in Detmold is!

A big thank you to all the people who attended
