Interactive experiences
on three floors: I.E.D. IS BACK!

...but first a fuel up with food, then head to the research talks

Finally, the time had come again: people from a wide variety of fields came together at KIO to dive into the world of immersion. A joint lunch kicked off the third Interactive Experience Day – a cozy get-together and networking opportunity!

Stage Time: Four Talks – Exchange, Ideas, Inspiration

Quote Immersive Deception:
Technology has never been neutral

After Alexander Kutter and Jule Lütke Föller welcomed the visitors, Prof. Dr. Veronika Kraus (Ansbach University of Applied Sciences) joined the event live via video. She specializes in deceptive design, i.e., manipulative design patterns in emerging technologies, particularly in the fields of XR and AI. Veronika Krauß explained immersive deception to visitors, focusing in particular on how she investigates the emergence, spread, and functioning of these patterns and their social and moral implications.

Johannes Crilly presented a unique use case: “Google Workspace Metaverse – Change Management with Metaverse/XR and AI.” He presented his case study on a special change management process. Successfully and sustainably transitioning 600,000 employees from Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace? Yes, it is possible – in an interactive 3D world where employees navigate thematically designed platforms as avatars.

From 3D avatars
to audio art

Sascha Etezazi then presented ‘Augmented Ubiquity’, one of the world's first volumetric audio artworks. In this piece, dance and music were developed specifically for virtual space – meaning that you can move around the artwork in VR and locate the audio sources yourself!

Quote An unusually creative social media campaign that reimagines a monument in reels and photo series

'Generative AI – Hermann at the touch of a button?' Lutz Gottschalk and Anna-Lena Büker shared insights into the Hermann project with the Landesverband Lippe.

Then it was time for the stations: visitors were able to test interactive applications and AI tools

Our visitors were invited to discover AI visuals in real time, experience dance and music in VR, and search for the Andersspiegel with realmAR, among other things. Once again, the Interactive Experience Day provided an opportunity to reflect together and exchange ideas with experts and interested individuals about the future of digital media. We are already looking forward to next year!
