On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, District Administrator Meinolf Haase visited the Kreativ Campus Detmold to learn about digital technologies for immersive experiences at the intersection of digitalization, art, and culture. The focus of the visit was an exchange about the further development of the Kreativ Campus Detmold as a location for digital media, research, and start-ups.
Accompanying the tour of the Media and Culture Department with its audio and video studios and graphic design workshop, selected research projects from the network were presented. These exemplify how virtual reality, immersive audio and video formats, and interactive applications are used in research and practice. These included the Zukunftsmusikkonzert (Future Music Concert), a walk-in 4D Gaussian splat video, and projects marking the 150th anniversary of the Hermann Monument, including the specially developed VR game “RepArminius” in the context of the exhibition at the Lippisches Landesmuseum Denk:Mal and the humorous social media campaign focusing on artificial intelligence.
During the tour and the subsequent discussion, opportunities for deepening regional partnerships and prospects for the further expansion of the Creative Campus Detmold were discussed. A particular focus was placed on the activities surrounding the start-up center and its role for science, spin-offs, and the creative industries in the region.
