State parliament representatives Raphael Tigges and Klaus Hansen learned about the current projects and research activities of KreativInstitut.OWL. Together with the president of OWL University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Krahl, they gained insights into virtual installations and interactive applications. They were given an exclusive opportunity to explore the prototype of an installation for the new entrance building of the Detmold Open Air Museum. The realistic reproduction is achieved with the help of Gaussian Splats, a brand-new method for visualizing real-world conditions in virtual worlds.
The representatives were impressed by the large number of interdisciplinary projects that the institute's employees have realized over the past three years. These include the concert “Zukunftsmusik” (Music of the Future), an interactive open-air format in Detmold, where digital sheet music was provided on music stands in real time using Flowscore software. There was also particular interest in the presentation of monuments as holograms in the exhibition “Denk:Mal!” (Think:Monument!), which is currently on display at the State Museum in Detmold.
In a concluding conversation with Managing Director Leonie Hans, Institute Director Prof. Dr. Guido Falkemeier, and President Prof. Dr. Jürgen Krahl, the development potential of the institute was discussed. The goal is to continue and expand the successful projects for cultural revitalization in the region.
