Speaker & Talks

Prof. Dr. Veronika Krauß

"Immersive Deception"

Technology has never been neutral — design goals, decisions, and contexts inevitably reflect human biases, intentions, and values. As technical systems become increasingly integrated into everyday life, their negative effects are also becoming more apparent — often at the expense of the rights, property, and mental and physical health of those involved. My research focuses on manipulative design patterns (deceptive design) in emerging technologies, particularly in the fields of extended reality (XR) and artificial intelligence (AI). I examine the emergence, spread, and functioning of these patterns, as well as their social and moral implications.

  • More about Veronika

Veronika Krauß is a professor of media informatics, UI and UX at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences. Her research focuses on responsible system design, particularly in relation to emerging technologies, immersive media, manipulation and deception. She completed her doctorate at the University of Siegen (2021–2023), where she focused on practice-based XR system design in industrial contexts. In 2024, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Darmstadt, where she conducted research on computer-generated deceptive designs.

Johannes Crilly

"Case Study: Google Workspace Metaverse - Change Management mit Metaverse/XR und KI"

The companies of the Schwarz Group are facing a change management process: the switch from Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace (GWS) for 600,000 employees. To make this transformation successful and sustainable, an innovative metaverse was developed. Employees navigate this interactive 3D world as avatars through thematically designed platforms for each GWS application. The central unique selling point is an AI-controlled NPC that uses a RAG model to access the entire GWS documentation in a context-sensitive manner. Users can ask any GWS-related question via text or voice and receive immediate, accurate answers. This metaverse transforms the learning process: increased engagement, sustainable learning effects, and a scalable, efficient knowledge source... The project sets new standards in enterprise change management through immersive technologies and increases acceptance and productivity with GWS.
  • More about Johannes

Johannes is a Professional Sales Consultant at STACKIT GmbH & Co. KG. The GmbH is the cloud and colocation provider of the Schwarz Group, Europe's largest retail company. Launched in 2018, STACKIT has quickly become a confident and data-secure alternative to hyperscalers. It offers secure, data-sovereign cloud solutions that primarily serve highly regulated industries and companies in the DACH region. With data centers in Germany and Austria, STACKIT ensures compliance with EU data protection standards and provides robust support for digital transformation.

Fatih Inan

"Plaza by Bizzlogic"

Plaza is our new product that combines innovations such as Gaussian Splatting and the Unreal Engine. We create photorealistic digital twins that allow buyers to experience their future home before it is built. At the same time, the same system generates professional marketing materials—images and videos can be created without the involvement of architects, eliminating the need for expensive external renderings and weeks of waiting.

  • More about Faith

Faith co-founded Bizzlogic GmbH and is now Chief Technology Officer there. Bizzlogic works with immersive technologies and develops solutions for virtual collaboration, events, training, and industrial simulations. At its core is an in-house immersive collaboration framework called Meadow, which companies such as P&G, SAP, BMW, Siemens, and others use to implement their digital projects. Fatih is Technical Director and brings over ten years of experience with Unreal Engine and XR tools to the table, focusing on designing technology that feels intuitive and is easy to use. The team at Bizzlogic aims to turn innovative ideas into practical solutions that actually work in everyday working life.

Lutz Gottschalk + Anna-Lena Büker

“Generative AI – Hermann at the touch of a button?”

In their presentation “Generative AI – Hermann at the touch of a button?” Lutz and Anna provide insights into their project “AI Hermann.” Together with the Lippe Regional Association, they used artificial intelligence to digitally bring the Hermann Monument to life for its 150th anniversary. This resulted in an unusual social media campaign that reimagines the monument in reels and image series. Generative AI serves as a humorous door opener for a serious examination of image authenticity, media trust, and cultural responsibility in the digital age.
  • More about Lutz & Anna-Lena

Lutz and Anna-Lena both work as research assistants at KIO in the field of digital media production. Their joint focus is on the research and application of artificial intelligence. Lutz contributes his expertise as a storyteller and VFX specialist. His focus is primarily on video creation, where he uses AI methods to develop new forms of visual storytelling. Anna-Lena concentrates on generative image production. She researches how AI models can expand and support creative processes in image design.
